Why silk?

Silk is the perfect surface for your little one!

  • Naturally Hypoallegenic & Antibacterial: Our silk bedding is not only the safest sleep surface for your baby if they have asthma or allergies, but it can also help prevent skin irritation, redness, and eczema flare-ups. Silk has hypoallergenic properties that make it gentle on sensitive skin, and it naturally repels dust mites, providing a comfortable and healthy sleeping environment for your little one.
  • Prevents bald spots: Alongside the skin benefits, our silk products prevent the 'rubbing" of traditional cotton sheets so bye-bye bald spots! And help keep hair frizz free!
  • Safety: Milk&Silks pure mulberry silk is 100% breathable and sleep-safe, so you can rest easy knowing that all of our products have been tried and tested for over 3 years before launching! Our silk slip has been designed only to fit on the safest beds i.e Snuzpod

How should I care for my Milk&Silks products?

Hand-washing is always the best way to wash your silk bedding, and will ensure it stays in the best condition. However we understand as busy mums there is not always time for this, so alternatively use a gentle spin at no more then 30 degrees. Make sure you use a gentle, PH neutral washing detergent specifically designed for washing silk or delicate fabrics and no fabric softener.

What is a momme?

Momme is the measurement used to weigh silk fabric. The more weight that a silk has, the higher the momme this equals better quality of silk. All of our products are made from 22 momme silk that is specially-commissioned for Milk&Silks. That is why we can guarantee that our products are soft, luxurious and long lasting.

Can I wash my silk bedding in the washing machine?

While we always recommend washing your silk products by hand, we know it's a chore! If you're in a rush, it's ok to pop your bedding in the washing machine. Always use a PH neutral washing detergent specifically designed for washing silk or delicate fabrics. Always wash on a delicate cycle. Wash on a cold temperature setting (max 30c). Use a non snagging delicates wash bag if you can.

How do I dry my silk cot sheets?

NEVER tumble dry your silk slips. We always recommend air drying your silk sheets- Gentler on the planet & better for your silk! Please avoid drying on a radiator as the direct heat can damage the silk.

Can I iron my silk slips?

Yes, our products can be ironed. Always iron on a cool setting and iron inside out.

Are the silk cot slips safe ?

Absolutely! Silk is natural, hypoallergenic and super breathable. All our products are also OEKO-TEX 100 certified, giving you the peace of mind that we never use toxic dyes or harsh chemicals.
